Normally people make resolutions for the new year, not starting on February 1st.
Well count me as not normal :)
Besides, most resolutions are made and forgotten all before the end of January anyway.
I have decided to take a 30 day (28 actually) challenge and not eat any meat for those
30 28 days.
Who challenged me? Nobody! I have decided it is something I want to try and do.
I read a ton of blogs all the time and I see so much talk about changing a habit in 21 days, break your bad habits, etc.
There is no proof that you can in fact change your habit in 21 days, but I think the more you do something the more it will become a new habit.
I also read Matt Cutts blog and he challenges himself to different 30 day challenges to see if he can do it.
It should be interesting to see how I feel after not eating meat for the first week or so.
I don’t really think it will be that big of a deal for me as I am open to eating a variety of things. I love all vegetables so that is a big plus.
Also today my daughter told me that she mentioned this challenge I set for myself to her boyfriend and then told him “who knows, my Dad gave up soda for Lent one year and never drank soda again”.
Who knows this could be the very case here…
After reading how much junk is in our meats that we buy (and no not just pink slime), why wouldn’t I want to at least try?
So wish me luck and I will update you half way through my challenge, somewhere around Valentine’s Day.
Oh an no meat means NO MEAT! No Beef, Pork, Chicken, etc. I am allowing myself fish but I doubt there will be much of that besides Tuna…
